In my experience, all of us will ultimately experience problems that seem to overwhelm our normal abilities to cope. We come to therapy because we don’t want to burden those around us and yet we have a need to be heard, validated and understood. We all ask ourselves what is needed to get through the storms of life and how to keep from repeating negative patterns. My approach to counseling can help restore the balance and emotional well-being that sometimes gets lost.
I love helping people change and improve their lives!
I really enjoy working with clients that are struggling with relationship, school or work issues. I also specialize in treating anxiety, life transitions, as well as drug/alcohol issues. I use the experience I have gained from well over 15 years of making connections and helping others respond to life’s challenges.
My approach to therapy is always welcoming and non-judgmental. Blame and dwelling on what might have been have no place in my approach. Therapy is about addressing the issues you choose in a way that respects you as a person and always validates your experience.
For the past 8 years I have also been helping couples build the relationship that they have always hoped for. I understand that there are many things that can strain or even break the emotional connection you have struggled so hard to maintain.
I use research-based approaches to help couples identify and achieve goals they set for their relationship. I recognize how difficult this process can be, and I strive to make therapy a compassionate, judgement-free setting where both partners are always heard and understood.
