First, the REALLY good news- the insurance plans we accept (Highmark, BCBS, Independence Blue Cross, and Magellan) are willing to pay for Telehealth sessions. (As always, if you are unsure, you can call your insurance company.)
Other good news: if you live in Pennsylvania, we can schedule with you. You don’t need to be near Bryn Mawr or King of Prussia.
While we ALL miss seeing people “IRL,” we have found that online therapy is also very effective and helpful. This is a time when anxiety is at an all-time high, some are depressed about what’s coming next, and grieving so. many. losses. (Think: Easter without family, cancelled proms/graduations/”lasts,” and sickness and death on a larger scale.)
When you utilize Telehealth services you get to be in the comfort of your own home. Want to sit on your couch in your pjs with your favorite blanket, a hot beverage, and cat/dog on your lap? You got it!
Other benefits: no need to worry about traffic, finding a parking spot (if you come to our Bryn Mawr office), and it’s a huge time saver without that commute.
If it’s hard to find quiet space in your house with your partner/roommates/children now underfoot 24/7, you are welcome to hang out in your car for 45 minutes while you chat with your therapist.
In order to have a good session, we’d recommend that you find a quiet space, use ear buds, and be sure you have a good internet connection.
