Sara Ralph, LPC, NCC

Anxious. Perfectionistic. Stuck. Overwhelmed.

I’ve had many people find me after having negative experiences in counseling. I am not one of those quiet therapists who simply says, “uh huh;” instead, I take a collaborative approach to therapy to help you meet your goals and help you find joy, peace, and healing. I can provide Christian counseling to those who request it; however, you do not need to be a Christian to see me for counseling services, as I am trained in clinical counseling and can see anyone of any (or no) faith background.

I work with women who struggle with anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, and grief/bereavement. My specialty is with young women who are 18 and older.  I am skilled in assisting my clients with transitions, providing clarity into difficult situations and relationships, helping women with developing self-confidence and enhancing their self-awareness.

I practice with a psycho-dynamic orientation, implementing cognitive-behavioral techniques as necessary; simply put, this means that I will help you understand your current situation based on the past as well as look at (and help you change!) thought patterns that keep you stuck.

It is a privilege and a joy for me to walk with you. I want to help you to experience healing and become self-aware and confident, so that you can live life as you were intended to- whole & complete!

I consider it my vocation and privilege to help young women. When I’m not counseling or teaching, I am taking care of my two young children. I am an INFJ,  an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person), and enjoy helping other introverts and HSPs thrive within their personalities and strengths. (I work with plenty of extroverts and non-HSPs, too!)

I love good coffee, reading, growing flowers, exercising, and planning National Park adventures with my family.

My Credentials

After turning away new client referrals for a long time, I expanded from solo private practice to opening Summit Grove Counseling in January 2020. It was my desire to offer counseling services to college students/young adults in the Greater Philadelphia area. The more therapists who joined our team, the more services we could offer. I’m thrilled that we can offer quality, affordable therapy to our community.

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Ky. and an undergraduate degree from Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa. In addition to running Summit Grove Counseling, I am an affiliate faculty member at Eastern University. I’ve spent the last 18+ years working in various higher education and mental health roles; in addition to private practice, these include teaching undergraduate and graduate level students, student development/residence life, career counseling, and community mental health.

I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
