Taylor Dawson, LPC
I’m Taylor Dawson, LPC. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, feel heard, and don’t have to figure everything out on your own. I enjoy working with teens and adults navigating anxiety, stress, self-esteem, relationships, and life transitions. I have a special interest in supporting teens as they figure out who they are and navigate the challenges of growing up, as well as working with new and postpartum moms as they adjust to motherhood and all the changes that come with it. My goal is to create a supportive, comfortable space where you can talk openly, feel understood, and work together toward feeling more like yourself again.

For those new to therapy, individual counseling will be unlike other relationships you have. For those who have had other therapeutic intervention, it is extremely important to me that you find a fit for you as you work to unpack your story with someone new. My role is to offer you a chance to be listened to without judgement or predetermined expectations. I will offer you the opportunity to find relief from your symptoms through active listening and effective feedback about the frustrating patterns that you are endlessly experiencing. My sincere desire to help you work through issues of anxiety, depression, difficult relationships (family, romantic, work, etc), and grief.

This title can be difficult to explain as faith is unique and personal. I am a Christian and to some that will be an important aspect to know about their therapist. Should you want to integrate your faith into our sessions, you are welcome and encouraged. You do not need to be a Christian to see me and integration of faith into the session will be at the request of the client.

I have had the privilege of providing pre-marital counseling to couples engaged to be married since 2010, and I have been a Certified Facilitator of the Prepare and Enrich program during that time frame. To call marriage a “big” commitment is an understatement, and too often couples become consumed in the details of preparing for their wedding day, rather than preparing for their marriage. Understanding potential areas of conflict, and the behavioral influences you bring to a marriage relationship are essential to building a strong marriage foundation. It is a tremendous honor to work with couples through this process, and I will do all that I can to help you build that foundation.
**I offer premarital counseling package that includes the Prepare and Enrich Inventory and 6 sessions.

It is common for newly married couples to think they’ve arrived as a team. They become blinded by the newness and excitement of their big day, and don’t yet understand that healthy marriages take work. When the bumps or earthquakes occur in a relationship, which happens even to the strongest of foundations, relationships can buckle due to years of neglect. It is so important to make a commitment to working on the small or medium concerns before the issues feel unmanageable. Commit to meeting with a therapist a few times a year to fortify your relationship!
If you are a couple considering a life together, are engaged to be married, are newly married, or have been married forever – I want to help your relationship get stronger and stay that way.
